If you haven’t taken four minutes to watch Cardi B’s “Twerk” video, you really should, because there’s currently some controversy brewing on Twitter and Cardi is out here defending herself. The video came out last week, and it’s basically a celebration of the best twerkers in the world. At one point, Cardi even dances in just body paint. It’s a work of art, and the women in it are very clearly owning their sexuality. But some people on Twitter weren’t so down with it. A conservative writer named Stephanie Hamill tweeted at Cardi, accusing her of not empowering women. “In the Era of #meToo how exactly does this empower women? Leftists, @iamcardib , feel free to chime in. THX .”.Let’s just say that if you ask Cardi to chime in, she’s definitely going to do it, and she will not go easy on you. She tweeted in reply, “It says to women that I can wear and not wear what ever I want. do w.e I want and that NO still means NO. So Stephanie chime in.If I twerk and be half naked does that mean I deserve to get raped and molested ? I want to know what a conservative woman like you thinks. “.SHUT DOWNNNNNN. There are some seriously valid points in there. For what it’s worth, Stephanie did reply to Cardi’s tweet, saying that she also thinks no means no, but Cardi’s video portrayed women as “sex objects. “.
